OPPORTUNITY/CHALLENGE

According to Tim Hays, HR Manager, the company was experiencing growing pains. It was important to identify key leader competencies and practices and provide training for high potentials who had been promoted as people leaders. Also, the company wanted to assess and take practical actions to potentially increase employee engagement.

CO-DESIGNED SOLUTION

The company partnered with Burns Leadership Consulting to identify and prioritize key leadership roles and practices and develop learning and development options to support the roles and practices. This solution also included an assessment of the company’s state of employee engagement and data from 360-degree reviews and other assessments to best understand the current state of leader and team performance and employee engagement.

OUTCOME/RESULTS

According to Tim regarding the learning and development opportunities: “Everyone always walked away with a better understanding and applicable tools that could be used right away to help them in their day-to-day struggles.”

In addition, Tim stated there was a “better understanding where we were with engagement with our employees and a better understanding of what employees needed from our leaders to increase their satisfaction and overall engagement.”
