We work with organizations of 30 to 500 employees across healthcare, manufacturing, financial services, and professional services. Our clients are typically senior leaders and executive teams who are already performing well and want to get to the next level, not organizations in crisis. We also work with high-potential leaders who are being developed for greater responsibility. Most engagements are referred through existing client relationships.

What is executive coaching and how does it work?

Executive coaching is a one-on-one development partnership between a leader and a professional coach. At Burns Leadership Consulting, coaching is provided by Dan Burns, a Professional Certified Coach (PCC) credentialed by the International Coaching Federation. Sessions are conducted in person or remotely and typically follow a structured rhythm of regular conversations focused on leadership clarity, decision-making, team performance, and execution. Coaching engagements are outcomes-focused and include sponsor involvement, when needed, to align the work with organizational priorities.

How long does a coaching engagement typically last?

Most coaching engagements at Burns Leadership Consulting are structured as annual partnerships. This gives leaders enough time to apply new thinking, adjust behavior, and see measurable results. Shorter engagements are available for specific situations such as leadership transitions, team alignment work, or high-potential development. How do you measure the impact of leadership development?

We believe that leadership development should produce measurable results, not just participant satisfaction. Before any engagement begins, we work with organizations to define clear outcomes, what changes in behavior, team performance, or business results would indicate success.
